The LA Peel.
The LA peel system is a superficial to medium intensity peel especially formulated to achieve optimum results but with less down time of other peels on the market. The peel can be used on all skin types including ethnic and darker skin. It is kinder on the skin because of its unique use of peeling agents. What Does the LA Peel do? The Peel brightens and rejuvenates. It improves the appearance of fine to moderate lines. It can smooth and rejuvenate sun damaged skin. It improves the appearance of actinic/scar damage. What Makes the LA Peel Unique? The LA Peel uses 3 agents that when combined together work in harmony to deliver an effective yet sympathetic peeling system. Each agent acts in a slightly different manner, making the solution highly effective and predictable. The peeling agent provides significant visible exfoliation with minimal complications and is simple to administer. The peel is based on alpha hydroxyl acids that are naturally occurring acids. The 3 important agents used are Resorcinal, Lactic Acid and Salicytic Acid.
The Peel Programme Following your consultation, one of our team of medical practitioners will provide you with the Theraderm Skin Renewal system. This system contains 4 products that provide a cleansing, exfoliation and moisturising regime that provides the perfect platform for your peel. The Renewal System will begin repairing the skin surface even before the peel has been administered. The peel itself will take no longer than 20 minutes to administer. Following the cleansing of the skin by the practitioner the first layer of the peel is applied. Following layers are applied at 3 minute intervals according to the individuals needs, up to a maximum of 6 layers. At this stage there may be a slight tingling and mild burning, this is completely normal and passes quickly. After the final layer the OPC reparative gel is applied this instantly stops any heat that may be present. The skin may look pink immediately after the peel, there is no problem with applying make-up following the peel and normal social activities can be resumed on the same day. Post Peel The following day you can resume using the Theraderm Skin Renewal system. The skin may appear greyish for a couple of days. Sun protection 30SPF should be used as part of your post peel regime. Three to four days post-treatment, significant peeling will occur as the stratum corneum begins to shed. By applying the provided unique NU-Peel gel to the flaking skin on post-peel day two the flaking will disappear as if by miracle! The flaking will last no longer than five days. Continue using the Skin Renewal System until all products have been exhausted. The skin should now be feeling much softer and have more elasticity; an enhanced firmness should be present as fresh collagen production will have been stimulated by the peel. If having a repeat peel, this can be done no sooner than six weeks following the initial peel.
