How Dermal Fillers Work Lip fillers are a gel like substance that have been especially formulated using cross linked Hyaluronic acid which is the substance and building block found in our bodies own collagen. Because the lips are so active the fillers are especially formulated to match the lips’ natural structure, supporting their many complex movements. By supporting these movements these fillers sustain lip definition and the enhancement over a period of up to 12 months. How The Treatment Is Administered The area to be treated is thoroughly cleansed. As the lips are a very sensitive area the practitioner will anaesthetise the lips, this completely numbs the area to be injected. The dermal filler is administered with a series of small injections. The practitioner gently massages the filler into place making sure that it is smooth and even. The treatment should take no longer than 30 minutes from start to finish. Immediately Following The Treatment The results from this treatment are immediate. As there has been a gel like substance injected under the skin there may be a slight swelling, this will subside within 24-48 hrs. There may also be some bruising, again this is quite normal and is only superficial. Most clients find that all bruising and swelling is gone within 24-48 hrs. What Should I Expect From The Treatment ? Your lips will have more volume and definition. The results can last up to12 months; in general our clients have satisfactory results that last around 8 months. Our aim is to leave your lips looking luscious yet natural.
